Why Did God’s People Fail?

The Westminster Larger Catechism says the works of God’s providence are “his most holy, wise, and powerful preserving and governing of all his creatures; ordering them, and all their actions, to his own glory.” Though Israel proved to be a disobedient and contrary people (Rom. 10:21), God used their sin for good. When Israel rejected the gospel, it spread to the ends of the earth. And yet God still was not done with Israel. We are awaiting the “fullness” of Israel, who will enjoy the riches of the gospel.
