Can I Endure Suffering?

Chapters 5–8 in Romans are about life in Christ. Such a life is profoundly different from a life in Adam. The Christian is freed from the condemnation of sin, freed from the obligation to sin, and freed to enjoy the blessings of union with Christ. But with union comes suffering and, later, glory. In verses 18–25, Paul explains how the faithful Christian can suffer well. It requires knowledge that present suffering is not nearly as bad as future glory is good. The believer, eyes fixed on future glory, can endure suffering.
