Am I Adopted?

Believers are free from condemnation (Rom. 8:1–11); they are empowered to put sin to death (8:12–13). The battle against sin is necessary and possible because of the Spirit of God within us. One of the privileges of being adopted into God’s family is the equipment necessary to fight our sin. In other words, as we reflect on the fact that, in Christ, we are all “sons of God” (8:14), we are able to “put to death the deeds of the body.”
