“Am I a Hypocrite?”

In Romans 1:18-32, Paul argues that the whole world is liable to God’s judgment. He describes, in stunning detail, the downward moral slide of those who make an idol out of themselves. But it’s not just the “whole world”—the Jewish people are similarly liable to God’s judgment. They are especially prone to hypocrisy because they have God’s standards spelled out in his law, yet they fail to obey. We are all—Jews and Gentiles alike—on equal footing. We are all—Jews and Gentiles alike—in need of hearts circumcised by the Spirit of God.
