When God Doesn’t Make Sense

The book of Habakkuk opens with the prophet lamenting the pervasive lawlessness and wickedness among his people, and he calls out to God to enact justice in the land of Judah. God doesn’t change Habakkuk’s circumstances or Judah’s future. Instead, God helps him savor his goodness so that he comes to rest in God, who will exalt himself through Judah’s coming fall and subsequent restoration.
