What is a Clear Conscience?

Paul cheerfully defended his innocence while standing before governor Felix in Caesarea. The Jewish leaders of Jerusalem accused Paul of insurrection and, even more significantly, of preaching against Judaism. Paul argued not only that he has always pursued the path of peace but that, with a clear conscience, he has preached the God of Israel, believed the Bible of Israel, and held tightly to the shared conviction that both the just and unjust will rise on the Day of Judgment to stand before God.
