We are brothers and sisters in Christ called to share one another’s joys and sorrows. One of the ways we do this is in our Sunday evening service. This hour-long service begins at 6:00 pm. It is not intended to be a Sunday morning service in miniature. Rather, it is a more personal setting with a different order of service as seen below.
Corporate Prayer
After we have opened in song for about 10-15 minutes, we spend the bulk of our time sharing and praying. Some of the things we regularly pray for are points from the morning sermon, some specific health needs, evangelistic opportunities and relationships, the work of a particular ministry, church leaders, and more. This is an encouraging time in hearing the prayers of other brothers and sisters as we make our requests known to God.
Devotional
After our time of prayer, a man in the church, usually a lay member, will give a 15 minute devotional on a particular text related to the morning sermon. These devotionals are weighted more toward application. We then conclude the service with a brief song. Similar to Sunday morning, you’ll find people lingering for fellowship.
Lord’s Supper
We celebrate the Lord's Supper on the first Sunday evening of each month in obedience to Christ.
