We are committed to sending one another to be salt and light.
"You are the salt of the earth...You are the light of the world" (Matthew 5:13, 14). These are the words Jesus spoke to his disciples as he taught them what their lives were to look like as his followers. Both in word and deed, we seek to live lives that are seasoned by and commend the gospel. Thus, we don't exist finally as a body simply to KNOW and EQUIP one another. Our ministry is also committed to sending one another to be a salt and light. Our church covenant put it this way: "We dedicate our energies to the service of Christ's kingdom; to seek to lead others into its fellowship to the end that His Kingdom may be promoted." This means that we want to strategize how the Lord might use us and our resources to take the gospel to the lost, those who are spiritually dead, both here in Sandy Springs and to the far reaches of the globe. We are all missionaries and the center of our missionary work is the local church.
Missions is not the ultimate goal of the church. Worship is. Missions exists because worship doesn't...Worship is the fuel and goal in missions. It's the goal of missions because in missions we simply aim to bring the nations into the white-hot enjoyment of God's glory. The goal of missions is the gladness of the peoples in the greatness of God.
