Preschool Ministry

"We will tell the next generation the praiseworthy deeds of the Lord...then they would put their trust in God." Psalm 78

Kingdom Kids, Mount Vernon's children's ministry, is committed to leading little ones to God through faith in Jesus Christ. Our goal is to impart truth and encourage faith as the children learn of God's greatness and worth revealed in His Word. We pray that God, by His Spirit, would enable them to recognize their sinful state and respond in repentance and faith to Christ Jesus. The Bible is our foundation and sufficient for children's ministry. This is just as Paul told Timothy, "Continue in what you have learned and have become convinced of, because you know how from infancy you have known the holy Scriptures, which are able to make you wise for salvation through faith in Christ Jesus" (2 Timothy 3:14-15).

As the children regularly gather with each other and the large body of Christ, these truths are reinforced through teaching, Scripture memory, prayer, music, drama, and special activities. These activities are conducted in a way that reflects God, nurtures meaningful relationships with both friends and adult leaders, and shepherds their hearts and lives to be joyfully spent for the cause of Christ and His Kingdom.

Sundays

Nursery Ministry

Loving care and prayer fill our nursery as infants are cuddled, played with, and rocked to worship music. Monthly prayer themes are provided as a guide and focus in praying for each child.

In our toddler care, volunteers repeat biblical truths ("Building Blocks of Faith") and seek to relate them in activities. Some key monthly themes are God is good; God is big; God is strong; God made and knows everything; God is with us; Jesus love you; We love Jesus; We need God. Caregivers regularly pray for and with the children.

Special Events & Family Fellowships

We often have special events to help develop fellowship between families and other church members. Events for the Fall 2011 and Springs 2012 are being planned.

Security Policies

We take seriously the safety and security of children made in the image of God. For all services, parents receive a security pager and it must be presented when the child is picked up from class. If someone other than the child's parent(s) have permission to pick up a child, that person's name must be recorded on the family registration form and that person must present the pager at pick up. Additionally, preschool staff may ask to see identification. All our children's teachers and volunteers must submit to a background check before they can serve.
