Deacons at Mount Vernon are to be servants of the church coordinating different ministries of the church. They are here to help mobilize and train members to be actively involved in the church's ministries, which includes everything from the stewardship of the church's finances to the Sunday morning greeters.

 

Below is a list of the current deacon ministries and deacons responsible:

 

Adult Sunday School

Oversees and coordinates all details regarding Sunday School and Connections Corner.

Baptism

Oversees and coordinates all the details for baptisms.

Bookstore

Oversees and coordinates all the details associated with the bookstore ministry.

Building & Grounds

Assists in overseeing the maintenance and improvement of the church’s facility and property.

Finance

Assists in overseeing the church’s finances and financial operations.

Food Service

Assists in overseeing Wednesday evening cashiers and all kitchen/food supplies and acts as a liaison between the church and Ultimate Culinary (Chef Andy).

Greeting

Oversees and coordinates greeters and ushers for Sunday morning worship services.

Homebound

Assists in overseeing and mobilizing members to care for the spiritual and physical well-being of homebound members.

International Missions

Assists in overseeing and mobilizing members to be involved in the international missions and evangelistic efforts.

Lord's Supper

Oversees the inventory and preparation of the elements and supplies for the Lord’s Supper.

Member Care

Assists in overseeing and mobilizing members to help meet the urgent, physical needs of one another.
